Rules

• Any Kyosho Mini-Z Readysets in Training Mode

All of our rentals are suitable to run in the Novice class. (See rentals)

Chassis (90mm – 102mm)

• MR02/MR03/MR04 RWD ONLY

Motor/ESC

• Stock Kyosho RTR brushed motor MZ9P

• 33,000 RPM , max forward/backward difference can be no more than 2000 RPM 

  1. • • Tested on Kyosho Motor Analyzer MZW124 

• No internal motor modifications are allowed, motor cannot be opened

• Stock capacitors and thermal cutoff switch must remain untouched

• Motor wires may be replaced, this is the only motor modification allowed

• No upgraded or stacking fets, no modifications allowed to the board

• Must use stock board KYOMZ414B , no EVO or programmable boards

• We also do some hand tests, motor should be free and no resistance when spun by hand, 

• Should be visually free of signs of being tampered with

Gearing

• Stock pinion and differential gears

• 6T-9T pinion only

Wheels (Width x Diameter)

• Kyosho or PN branded plastic or aluminum wheels (No 3D printed, prototype wheels)

• Front wheels must be 8.5mm x 20mm ONLY (Larger 11mm or 14mm are not allowed)

• Rear wheels must be 11mm x 20mm ONLY (Larger 14mm are not allowed)

• Mounted tire and wheel diameter cannot exceed 25.5mm

• Offset must fit properly inside the body

Tires

• Any brand of Rubber Tires (must be a production tire and widely available)

• No foam, silicone, Urethane, Ethyl Carbamate, prototype and/or homemade tires.

• Traction compounds of any kind is NOT ALLOWED. Tire warmers are allowed.

• Tire cleaning with 70% alcohol solution is allowed.

Transmitter

• Stock Kyosho RTR Transmitter Only

• Must be in stock configuration (No internal mods of any kind to steering wheel or throttle/brake trigger)

• Rubber/Silicone steering wheels allowed

Batteries

• KYO71998 - Kyosho Speedhouse AAA batteries ONLY!

• 1.44 volt per cell max

Bodies

• Stock Kyosho Autoscale and Hard plastic bodies

• Bodies must remain in stock configuration.

  • Entire windshield and windows must remain installed

  • Trimming is allowed for clearance purposes only

  • Front splitters may be rounded (No Performance modifications)

  • Bodies must be painted in a visible color (No solid unpainted white and/or Black color allowed)

• Lexan bodies, windows and/or roofs are not allowed

Weight

• Stock (Minimum ~ approximately 180g)

Modifications

• King-pin Flip Mod

• T-Plate can be upgraded (OEM only - Kyosho)

• Front suspension springs (OEM only - Kyosho)

• Aluminum wheel nuts (OEM only - Kyosho)

• Any brand ball bearings

• Lube/grease allowed for dampening, and differential

• If body gets damaged, you are allowed to use a thin glue to fix damage (if you door mirrors / wing come off) etc

NO OTHER MODIFICATIONS OTHER THAN ONES LISTED ABOVE ARE ALLOWED

• 3D Print Transponder Holder, Body Side Clips, ESC Top Cover NOT allowed. 

• No other aluminum, 3D printed and/or prototype parts allowed

• Cannot use thick epoxy and glues to reinforce or mend broken parts of the body

• Titanium and/or Hex Screws are NOT allowed

• No aftermarket front bumper clips for bodies (no carbon fiber etc)

• Stock Kyosho white/black end ball brushed motors (MZ9, MZ9P,  KYOMZ9E, MZW301, MZW301E), 

• Motors internals must remain unaltered with stock rotor, brushes, magnets, comms, etc.

• Motor cannot be opened

• Motor wires can be swapped

• Capacitors and thermal cutoff can be removed

• All Kyosho boards allowed

• Replaced or stacked fets not allowed

Gearing

• Open

• Any branded plastic or aluminum wheels (No 3D printed, prototype wheels)

• Front wheels must be maximum 8.5mm x 20mm ONLY (Larger 11mm or 14mm are not allowed)

• Stock Kyosho Autoscale and Hard plastic bodies

• Bodies must remain in stock configuration.

  • Entire roof, windshield, and windows must remain installed

  • Trimming is allowed for clearance purposes only

  • Front splitters may be rounded (No Performance modifications)

  • Bodies must be painted in a visible color (No solid white and/or Black allowed)

• 12T Pinion (Must be the color coded green pinion)

• 53T Spur (must be the yellow color coded spur)

• Front wheels must be maximum 8.5mm x 20mm  ONLY (Larger 11mm and  14mm are not allowed)

• Rear wheels must be maximum 11mm x 20mm ONLY (Larger 14mm are not allowed)
